The Kurita Blog Gets a Boost!

After a couple weeks of not having much to post, I've contacted the Kurita campaign and asked that they, like all the other campaigns are diong with their bloggers, start aprising me of what she is doing and saying. Rosalind is constantly speaking and meeting folks IN TENNESSEE, and I'd like to share some of her appearances and thoughts on this blog.

Great changes are in the works!

I was pleased to learn from the campaign that there is an upcoming debate in February between Senator Kurita and Congressman Ford. Hopefully I will be able to provide juicy details. I can't wait!

I have been hearing she was going to drop out considering her numbers are either $50,000 or $100,000. Seems like a large way off from what Ford has raised. I believe the number was 1.1 Mil.

I'd be interested to know what Kurita's feelings are on Ford's close ties to Jack Abramoff's associates. Ford accepted nearly $4000 in Abramoff-connected money, yet he's calling on the Republican candidates to come clean about money they never accepted.

Anon #1, Kurita has a deep-seated belief that raising a lot of money outside Tennessee is missing the boat - connection with Tennesseans is her top priority. We'll all get a chance very soon to declare which of these characteristics we want in our next Senator.

Anon #2, I would also like to find that out. She believes that the influence we've given to corporations and special interests is a mistake, and she also believes that legislators should go out of their way to avoid the appearance of impropriety. So, I think she would be most disturbed with the lack of genuine desire to act ethically. As with so many other things Ford, Jr comes across (to me, anyway) as using it only as a political football without having equal conviction on the thing itself. Although, to be fair, I get that sense from most of the current US House.

As part of my attempt to get more info on Rosalind's goings-on I asked and the Senator agreed to an informal discussion or two. I suspect I will be posting some of her comments from that discussion. I'll ask her your question.

I had to delete Richie's post here because it contained two elements of libelous content among the hysterics. Feel free to repost your response sans lies, Richie.

I cannot believe you Daniel. There were no lies. I wrote that Kurita had been fined by the FEC which is true! I am so mad at you! Have fun losing.

If I was lying Daniel, why didn't you just refute what i had to say? You delted my post because what I wrote was true: that Ford's connections to Abramoff are nonexistent, that your candidate was fined by the FEC and had broken a pledge to never accept PAC money. Daniel if you can't handle the heat then get out of the kitchen, but don't delete my comments just because the divine chose not to inspire you with a response. I've got two things in this world Daniel: my balls and my word, and I don't break 'em for nobody!

Richie, your testicles seem to be your only asset because you've broken your word several times by taking up contradictory positions (i.e. Kurita is fiscally irresponsible because she didn't raise taxes, she's fiscally irresponsible because she voted to raise taxes).

Let me be clear - arguments have a hallowed place in political discourse but 'making stuff up' is not a tactic I will look kindly upon. When they go far enough I will exercise my own discretion where you seem to be lacking. I hope I haven't given the impression that anything goes while I am monitoring the blog, that certainly is not the case.

Now....

I have nothing to say at the moment on Ford and Abramoff. The appearance of unethical behavior by a legislature warrants a full addressing of the issue - Ford OFTEN calls on the current administration and congressional leadership for this level of transparency. If the once or twice-removed Abramoff links do not spell corruption in his finances, he need only explain in detail how they are separated from the guy's misdoings. This would be the standard for Kurita as well, I'm not railing on Ford only pointing out an objective standard he has already engendered himself.

Kurita was fined by the FEC for filing a quarterly report late. I'm not sure what kind of mileage you'd like to get out of this but you can't get blood from a turnip....

And, finally, for my MANY excellent, crushing, and un-answered responses to the PAC argument, see our 6 earlier exchanges on that issue. Yet again I will say something new where you have not:

Which is better - the candidate who was idealistic enough to at least try and avoid all appearances of corruption by special interest influence or the candidate who embraced it lovingly from day one?

That's bull Daniel. You can say whatever you want about my testacles, but no one will ever know the truth but you and I because you just delete comments when they hurt your candidate. Kurita getting fined by the FEC is the most pathetic display by any campaign so far in this Senate race. The way I see it, is that your campaign is in this for who knows what reason, you guys know you're going to lose, and for some reason you want to take down our party's best hope of winning this seat with you. Well I've got news for you Daniel: Kurita is corrupt. I've spelled it out for you a million different ways. On this website I have demonstrated over and over again that Kurita has a consistent voting record which has allowed more special interests to influence our legislature but you continue to be in denial, probably because you're being paid by Kurita. Come clean and tell the truth Daniel. Are you getting paid to spin her pathetic record?

It's time for Kurita to drop out so that the party can unite behind one candidate. If she had a shot at winning the primary I might think differently. Her inability to raise the kind of money she needs to compete, her waffling on the issues, and her continuous staff changes lead me to beleive she's not the best candidate to put forth in November.
